Ottomani Chianti Classico DOCG
The Ottomani Chianti Classico DOCG is a pure and classic expression of 100% Sangiovese from Greve in Chianti, 17 kilometers south of Florence. The grapes come from approximately 30-year-old vines on calcareous soils with clay and galestro, and due to the poor, stony soils and green harvesting, the yield is deliberately kept low: less than 1.5 kilos per plant.
In the cellar, Ottomani works in a traditional and minimalist way: spontaneous fermentation in concrete vats, without selected yeasts, followed by a maceration of 15 to 25 days and an aging of 14 months in concrete. As a result, the character of Sangiovese remains completely intact, and you mainly taste fresh red fruit, tension, structure, and terroir.
The result is a vibrant, honest, and terroir-driven Chianti Classico with cherry fruit, floral notes, fresh acidity, and the pure energy of traditional Chianti Classico.
